TEXAS MONTHLY SEEKS BARBEQUE FAITHFUL TO SUBMIT
WORTHY TEXAS BBQ JOINTS FOR NEXT “TOP 50” LIST

Calling all BBQ buffs, fans, mavens, hounds, fanatics, cognoscenti, nuts, addicts, maniacs, aficionados, zealots, enthusiasts, devotes, groupies & lovers!

In order to compile its “Top 50 BBQ Joints in Texas” list, Texas Monthly is seeking the help of the Texas barbecue community. Executive editor Pat Sharpe has officially announced a call to action amongst Texas barbecue fans to submit their favorite destinations in the state to be considered on the list.

Submissions are currently being accepted via the comments section of Texas Monthly’s “Eat My Words” blog. Tipsters should include the location address, phone number and hours, as well as their personal favorite dishes.

Texas Monthly’s team of experts will soon hit the road to begin evaluating for the next Top 50 feature, which will be published in the publication’s June 2013 issue. Included in their travels and research will be visits to previous Top 50 destinations, including Snow’s, Kreuz, Smitty’s, Louie Mueller’s, and City Market in Luling, and the other 45. Newly famous and February 2012 cover profile Franklin and JMueller of Austin, will be visited, as well. Next year will mark the 5th anniversary since the authority on all things Texas for nearly 40 years has compiled its “Top 50 BBQ Joints in Texas” list.
