Austin Java to Open in Tarrytown Center on Mon, Nov 26

One of Austin’s most iconic restaurants and coffeehouses is brewing up another way to make it easier to get through the daily grind. Austin Java— the beloved coffee shop and longtime restaurant staple in Central Texas known for its locally roasted organic coffees, wholesome all-day breakfasts and flame-kissed burgers, lip-smacking sandwiches and plentiful entrées — is opening a new location in Tarrytown Center. Set to open Monday, November 26, the new Austin Java will be located at 3110 Windsor Road.
Austin Java Tarrytown will provide the excellent service and top-quality menu items the Austin Java brand has become known for, in a laid-back Austin-neighborhood setting. The 2,450-square-foot restaurant, which will occupy the former Texenza space, will include anunpretentious atmospherefriendly counter service and an expansive outdoor patio, where both two-legged and four-legged customers are gladly received, thanks to Austin Java’s Dogs Always Welcome policy.     While many of Austin Java’s popular breakfast, lunch and dinner items will remain staples of the Austin Java Tarrytown menu, renowned culinary artist, Chef George Thomas, has helped to further elevate the Austin Java menu with several new spectacular dishes. New breakfast items include The Austinite Omelette (black beans, tomatoes, green onions and a cheddar/Monterey Jack mix) and the savory Chorizo & Potato Omelette(vegan chorizo, skillet potatoes and a cheddar/Monterey Jack mix), as well as the delightfully satisfying Portobello Pesto Benedict (roasted Portobello mushroom slices, basil-pecan pesto sauce and hollandaise sauce). New additions to the lunch and dinner menu include the Southwest Salad (crisp Romaine lettuce topped with vegan chorizo, black beans, corn pico, green onions, fresh tomatoes, cheddar cheese and sour cream, served with a choice of signature house-made dressings), and sandwiches such as the Veggie Hummus (Austin Java’s famous hummus with cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions and sprouts served in a wrap), the Roasted Veggie (zucchini, squash, roasted red peppers, spinach, Portobello mushrooms and melted gouda served warm on a toasted focaccia bun), the Curried Tofu Wrap (curry-ginger tofu salad mixed with toasted pecans, raisins, craisins, fresh spinach and shredded carrots in a tortilla wrap), and the Roasted Portobello (a pesto Portobello mushroom grilled and served on a toasted whole-wheat bun with mixed greens, tomatoes and pickled red onions). All sandwiches are served with a choice of soup, fruit, salad, mashers, tortilla chips and salsa, or seasonal veggies.    Austin Java has also expanded its pasta entrée offerings to include Pasta Pomodoro (garlic-olive oil sauce, tomatoes, white wine reduced and tossed with fresh basil and linguini then topped with Parmesan cheese), Texas Pesto (basil-pecan pesto tossed with penne pasta, roasted tofu, mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes then topped with fresh lemon zest), classic Bolognese (linguini pasta served with a rich Bolognese sauce), andChipotle Cream (garlic cream chipotle sauce tossed with penne pasta, roasted tofu, bell peppers and scallions). All pasta entrées are served with warm focaccia bread. Austin Java Tarrytown will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Breakfast is served all day, every day, and full service begins at 4 p.m. every day.  In addition to the many signature espresso drinks, frappes, Italian sodas, smoothies and organic coffees Austin Java is known for, the Tarrytown location will also offer a wide selection of cocktails, wine, draft and bottled beer, and spiked coffees such as the Choca Khan (coffee, Amaretto, Godiva white chocolate liqueur and Kamora topped with whipped cream and cocoa powder), the Brown Eyed Girl (full cappuccino, brandy and Kamora), and the Mexican Coffee (coffee, Patron XO and Bailey’s Hazelnut). Diners are also encouraged to create their own spiked coffee drink with Austin Java coffee and their choice of a sidecar.   Austin Java Tarrytown is located at 3110 Windsor Road in the Tarrytown Center.
