Arias, Wine and Holiday Cheer at Fratelli’s Authentic Italian Cuisine Restaurant 5-Course Prix Fixe Holiday Wine Dinner

Bob and Teresa Tadeo Wittman, owners of Fratelli’s Authentic Italian Cuisine Restaurant, 10989 Northwest Freeway, (near 34th Street), will be celebrating the holidays with a five-course Italian wine dinner.

Special guest will be internationally recognized tenor Angelo Farrari, who will be singing some well-known and popular Italian opera arias during the dinner.

Cost: $60 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

Antipasto (Appetizer)
Pizzetta Margarita
Small thin crust pizza with mozzarella chees,e tomato slices, tomato sauce and topped with Pecorino Romano cheese and basil
Pizzetta Fungi di Bosco
Small thin crust pizza with Fontina cheese, shallots, green olives and wild mushrooms
White Wine: Provenza Lugana, “Maiolo”, DOC  2011

Insalata (Salad)
Insalata di Frutta
Mixed green salad topped with thin slices of fresh pear, candied walnuts, cranberry and crumbled gorgonzola cheese. Squeezed lemon and extra virgin olive  oil dressing
Rose Wine: Provenza Chiaretto Guarda Rosato, DOC 2011

Primi Piatti (First Plate)
Orzo al Radicchio con Speck
Pearled barley browned in butter, simmered in chicken stock and white wine with shallots, radicchio and cured Italian ham.
Red Wine: Provenza Guarda Classico DOC 2011

Secondi Piatti (Main Course)
Medallions di Manzo con Sugo Pepe Verde
Medallions of beef tenderloin rubbed with salt and flour, browned and sautéed with mushrooms in a creamy green peppercorn sauce. Served with Italian mashed potatoes.
Red Wine: Negresco (Barbera, Sangiovese,  Marzemino and Groppello) DOC 2010

Dolci (Dessert)
Torte di Mele con Pinoli e Uvetta
Fresh apple torte with pine nuts and raisins and topped with vanilla bean ice cream
