They are Sommeliers. But when they pick up a glass of wine, what sets a Sommelier apart from those of us who enjoy wines as an accompaniment with our dinner?

How can they, with a swish, a swirl, a sniff and a gulp conclude that "this is a red wine from the USA, California actually, aaaahh yes - I can detect that it's from NAPA, near Highway 29, from grapes grown behind the Oakville Grocery, in the shade of the Napa Valley Wine Train Billboard, yes - picked on the 3rd Thursday of the harvest,..."

Come and learn first hand about the structures and techniques that the professionals use when they taste and evaluate wines. We'll share why a wine is given 95 points vs. those that are 85 points. You'll learn the "language" and "descriptors" that are used by industry professionals.

Format is an informal classroom setting with Pete Hanowich leading the tasting and discussions. Dress is Casual. Tickets are $50/person. Must be over 21 years of age to attend. Advance Purchase ONLY- Sorry, No Walkins Permitted.
