Piedmont is home to six major grape varieties known world-wide. This class gives an in-depth overview of the most important wines here in Piedmonte, with a tasting & examination of each wine: Arneis, Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo, Barolo and Barberesco.
The class covers the geographic areas of each wine, the appellations, or DOC & DOCG, and their meaning, as well as soil composition, micro climates, hillside exposition and why it all matters.

Why learn about France?

Simply because they still continue to create so many of the world’s most intriguing, exotic, and individualistic wines.

France is the birthplace of most noble grape varieties we know today; Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, and others. This class will introduce you to, and taste, these classic grapes and the regions they come from in France. We will also breakdown a French Label and other essentials in order to give you a deeper, more inherent understanding of these delicious wines.

Joanna will be leading this class because her background is so interesting and maybe an inspiration to some or many of you. I know it has been to be me, she self published a book on Wines of France, which will be available in class, has a cool, but geeky, blog and never fails a wine exam. So please come and support her and perhaps see how to make a transition into the world of wine.
