2007 Quill
Diamond Mountain - Napa Valley
Showing the qualities of the ripe, near-perfect 2007 vintage, this is a wine that balances linear, graphite minerality with classic Cabernet flavors. Plum, cassis, clove, blueberry and dried spices are  apparent on both the nose and palate.  Elegant refined tannins provide a smooth, lingering finish.  A delight. 225 cases produced

2009 La Jota
Howell Mountain - Napa Valley
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon comes across as gorgeous and round in its expressive dark red and black fruit, earthiness, menthol, spices and graphite. The firm Howell Mountain tannins are there, but the presence of Merlot (12%) helps to soften the wine. This is a gorgeous showing from La Jota and winemaker Chris Carpenter. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024

2005 Saint Helena Road Winery, Roy J Maier
Spring Mountain - Sonoma County
Purplish-red, with a dense black core, this wine is dark. It sends off spicy, classic Cabernet aromatics of raspberry, clove, cassis, with a hint of chocolate. These aromas are echoed as flavors on the palate, carried by a full body that has additional richness beyond our previous vintages. Look for a beautiful finish, graced by rich but sweet tannins and very nice length.  75-80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot 5% Malbec, 5% Cab Franc, and 1-2% Petit verdot. Mike Hirby (Behrens and Hitchcock, Rockledge, Realm, Relic) is the wine maker. The vineyard is at the peak of Spring Mountain on the Napa/Sonoma county line between Pride and Fisher Vineyards.  790 cases produced
