This tasting group is open to ANYONE who wants to join a community of like minded people who have a passion for learning and seeking out new things in terms of food & drink.
This is intended to be a monthly themed tasting where every month we will have the opportunity to focus on a topic that the meetup group decides on as well as the opportunity to bring in guest and celebrity hosts. Themed tastings are not limited to just wine; so no topic is really off limits in terms food and drink. Your input on themes is greatly appreciated.
As with the blind tasting group, the idea with a themed tasting is to bring people together; both professionals and enthusiasts alike to create a sense of community and to learn about things we love and are passionate about.
August 1st Theme: Texas vs. The World (Syrah)
Honor Guest: Patrick "Pat" Johnson,Veteran Texas Winemaker and legendary icon of the Texas wine industry will be at hand to talk to us about the challenges of growing grapes in the state, and the success that can be achieved.
Special Guest: Tim Drake, Vineyard Manager & Winemaker of Flat Creek Estate Winery, will join us to talk about the production terms and concepts that winemakers in the state apply to the juice!
