🤠 Snackin’ Buckaroo Review: Buc-ee’s Cookie Bites

YEEHAW, BUCKAROOS — gather ‘round, because I’ve got a snack review hotter than a brisket sandwich fresh off the pit! On our recent Buc-ee’s adventure in Leeds, my wife and I moseyed on over to the snack aisle (which, let’s be honest, might as well be a land of dreams) and stumbled upon a trio of treats that just about made us do the Big Buckin’ Buc-ee’s Salute right there next to the Beaver Nuggets.

We’re talkin’ Buc-ee’s Cookie Bites — and not just one flavor — three mighty fine snackin’ options:

🍰 Birthday Cake Cookie Bites

These little golden nuggets are like a full-blown birthday party packed into a single bite.
We’re talkin’:

  • Crispy cookie center

  • Sweet, cake-flavored coating (sprinkles included!)

  • Gluten-free and made without artificial colors or sweeteners

  • No high fructose corn syrup (that’s right — the Beaver done good)

These bites are fun. You pop one of these in your mouth and suddenly you’re hearing the faint sound of folks singing “Happy Birthday” to you… even if it ain’t your birthday. They taste like celebration, joy, and confetti cannons going off in your mouth — without the cleanup.

🍪 Cookies ’N Crème Cookie Bites

Now these? These are the real “oh, I’ll just try one” turned “Wait… where’d the whole box go?” situation.

  • Crunchy cookie center

  • Smooth, creamy coating

  • Gluten-free

  • No artificial sweeteners

  • No high fructose corn syrup

They’ve got that perfect crunchy-meets-creamy moment — like dunking a cookie in milk but without the work. These are excellent for road trips… though I must warn you: one box may not survive past the first state line.

🍫 Triple Chocolate Cookie Bites

Hold your hat. Hold your heart. Hold your horse.
This one is for the serious snackin’ cowboys out there.

  • A rich chocolate cookie core

  • Wrapped in milk chocolate, dark chocolate, AND white chocolate

  • That’s right… three chocolates.
    Count ’em. One, two, three.

This is the kind of snack where you lean back, close your eyes, and reevaluate your life choices — in a good way. Perfect for sharing… but I’ll be honest — I did not share. And I do not regret it.

🧭 Snackin’ Buckaroo’s Final Ride-Home Verdict:

If you see these boxes while passing through Buc-ee’s, do not walk, don’t trot — gallop.
These cookie bites are one of the best grab-and-go sweets in the entire store — festive, flavorful, snackable, and road-trip approved.

And hey — they’re gluten-free and free from all that artificial nonsense.
So that means they’re basically health food, right?

(…Don’t quote me on that. But also, yes. Spiritually.)

So next time you’re wanderin’ through the traveler’s oasis known as Buc-ee’s, grab yourself a box of these cookie bites and treat your tastebuds to a snack-tastic rodeo.

Keep snackin’. Keep smilin’. Keep travelin’.

A Sweet Morning at Buc-ee’s Leeds: Muffins, Statues, and a Super Sausage Taco to Remember

Howdy, Buc-ee’s lovers! The Snackin’ Buckaroo and my lovely wife, Karla, saddled up once again and made our way to one of our favorite travel stops — the Buc-ee’s in Leeds, Alabama — on October 18. And let me tell y’all, this visit was packed with a few delicious surprises and one mighty fine collectible!

A Muffin Morning to Remember
Karla, who has a knack for finding the sweetest treasures at Buc-ee’s, made a beeline for the bakery counter — and struck gold. She came away with an assortment of fresh muffins that were as good as they looked.

Her top pick? The Orange Cranberry Walnut muffin — bursting with citrusy brightness, nutty crunch, and just the right touch of sweetness. But she didn’t stop there. She also snagged a Blueberry muffin (an all-time favorite), a cozy Cinnamon Chip, and a decadent Double Chocolate muffin. Every one of them was soft, flavorful, and baked to Buc-ee’s perfection.

Let’s just say the bakery team at Leeds deserves a big ol’ Snackin’ Buckaroo salute for these sweet delights!

The Super Sausage Taco Delivers Big Flavor
While Karla was exploring the sweeter side of Buc-ee’s, I was wrangling up some breakfast of my own — the Super Sausage Taco. Packed with sausage, potato, egg, and beans, and finished with a touch of that signature green sauce, this breakfast taco was nothing short of spectacular.

Pair it with a steaming cup of Buc-ee’s House Blend Coffee, and you’ve got yourself the kind of breakfast that keeps you fueled for the long haul — or at least until your next Buc-ee’s stop!

A Mini Statue with a Mighty Spirit
Before we rode off, I spotted something new that I just couldn’t resist — the Buc-ee’s Mini Statue. It’s a smaller version of the big, smiling beaver statue that greets you outside every Buc-ee’s. Now I’ve got my own Buc-ee’s mascot to keep me company at home — a perfect reminder of the joy and adventure this brand brings every time we visit.

Final Thoughts from the Road
Every Buc-ee’s trip has its own charm, but this Leeds visit had a special mix of sweet discoveries, hearty breakfast, and collectible magic. Whether it’s the muffins that make your morning or the statues that make you smile, Buc-ee’s always finds a way to turn a pit stop into a full-on experience.

Keep snackin’. Keep smilin’. Keep travelin’. And always keep Buc-ee’s on your horizon.

Snackin’ Through Leeds: Our Flavor-Filled Visit to Buc-ee’s in Alabama

Every Buc-ee’s visit is an experience, but our latest stop at the Leeds, Alabama location turned into a full-blown snack adventure. While Buc-ee’s is always known for its wide selection of travel treats and Texas-sized hospitality, this visit introduced us to a crunchy lineup we couldn’t resist—Buc-ee’s Potato Sticks in four bold flavors!

We snagged:
  • Original – Classic, salty, and satisfyingly crispy. The baseline snack that delivers every time.
  • Jalapeño – A spicy kick with just the right amount of heat. A must for fans of bold flavors.
  • Cajun Boil – Packed with Southern spices, this one’s a flavor-packed journey to the bayou.
  • Cheddar Sour Cream – Tangy, cheesy goodness that’s dangerously addictive.
These new snack sticks are the bomb—perfect for road trips, movie nights, or just munching while you reminisce about your last Buc-ee’s run.

Sadly, the Dill Pickle flavor was out of stock during our visit—clearly a popular choice—but we’ll be on the lookout next time. My wife especially loved the Cheddar Sour Cream flavor and gave a big thumbs up to the Wavy Chips in Cheddar Sour Cream as well. Looks like we’ll need a snack drawer just for Buc-ee’s treats soon!

While we came for the snacks, we stayed for the smiles. As always, the Leeds team was welcoming, the store was spotless, and the atmosphere was buzzing with travelers and Buc-ee’s fans from near and far. There’s something about this location—maybe it’s the Alabama charm or just the unmistakable Buc-ee’s magic—that makes every visit memorable.

We’ll definitely be back. And hopefully next time, that Dill Pickle flavor will be waiting for us.

Have you tried the new Buc-ee’s Potato Sticks yet? Let us know your favorite flavor in the comments below—and don’t forget to follow our Buc-ee’s adventures at foodandflame.com.

Until next time—stay crunchy, my fellow buckaroos!

Rain or Shine, Leeds Always Delivers

Date of Visit: May 17, 2025 | Location: Buc-ee’s – Leeds, AL

Our sixth visit to the Buc-ee’s in Leeds, Alabama, might have come with a downpour, but nothing could dampen our Buc-ee’s spirit. Even in the middle of a spring storm, this location continues to be one of our favorite stops.

We started our morning with a brisket taco topped with salsa verde, a generous helping of Beaver tots, a Texas Squeeze orange juice, and, of course, the always-reliable House Blend Buc-ee’s coffee. Breakfast in Buc-ee’s is a ritual for us — and it's never boring.

Later in the day, we shared some fresh-cut watermelon — a simple but refreshing lunch that really hit the spot. The fruit selection at Leeds never disappoints! For dinner, we split a hearty 3 Meat BBQ sandwich, and rounded it out with a loaded baked potato salad and banana pudding. Karla opted for one of her personal favorites: the chicken salad croissant sandwich, light, creamy, and perfectly satisfying.

We also had a chance to try some new items and were blown away. The Cheddar Sour Cream Wavy Chips are dangerously good, and the Spicy Pickled Brussels Sprouts have a kick we didn’t expect but absolutely loved. For dessert, the Cookie Bites were crunchy, sweet perfection.

As always, the heart of the visit was the people.
  • Monica, our breakfast cashier, greeted us warmly as soon as we walked in.
  • Windy recognized us from previous visits and lit up with joy when she saw us — it truly made our day.
  • Darren was working hard to keep the floors safe from the rain, never missing a beat.
  • And Michele, one of the kindest people you’ll meet, gave us a big hug when she saw us again. That kind of warmth is what makes Buc-ee’s more than just a stop — it’s a home on the road.
We're already planning our next Leeds visit in June, and we can’t wait to see familiar faces and try more Buc-ee’s favorites. Rain or shine, this location always leaves us smiling.

A Buc-ee’s Kind of Day in Leeds, Alabama

On April 12th, Karla and I made our way back to one of our favorite places on the map — the Buc-ee’s in Leeds, Alabama — and let me tell you, it was another visit packed with friendly faces, delicious eats, and that unbeatable Buc-ee’s energy.

From the moment we stepped through those automatic doors, the Buc-ee’s team made us feel right at home. We had the absolute pleasure of catching up with Michele in Bookkeeping, who remembered us and welcomed us with the kind of enthusiasm that just warms your heart. We’re already looking forward to seeing her again on May 17th, our next planned visit! Sarah, also from Bookkeeping, chatted with us about the adorable Easter Buc-ee plushie, which we finally got our hands on this time around (and yes, we added the Dancin’ Buc-ee, a color-changing tumbler, and the 2025 Tour T-shirt to our haul — how could we not?).

Catherine, our cashier, was super friendly and efficient, and Misty, working over in salads and sandwiches, made sure everything was fresh and ready. A big thanks as well to Phil in Merchandising for being so helpful. And a special shoutout to Matthew, who shared some updates on the upcoming Brunswick, Georgia location. We are beyond excited for that opening — it’ll be our first grand opening visit, and we’re hoping to meet Arch "Beaver" Aplin III and Randy Pauly there. (If y’all are reading this, we’ll have our Texas Monthly issue in hand, ready for signatures!)

Of course, no visit to Buc-ee’s is complete without food. For breakfast, I went big with the Beast Burrito, washed it down with Texas Squeeze orange juice, and followed it up with a hot cup of House Blend Buc-ee’s coffee — strong, smooth, and full of flavor. I’d love to see a decaf version of the Buc-ee’s K-Cups in the future. It’d be perfect for winding down after a long drive. (You know I’d be first in line!)

Later, when I couldn’t decide on a BBQ meat... I didn’t. I went for the 3-Meat BBQ Sandwich and paired it with a bag of Buc-ee’s Kettle Cooked Jalapeño Chips — spicy, crunchy, and absolutely addictive. Karla opted for the fresh Cobb salad, which hit the spot and kept her coming back for more.

Now, I’d be lying if I said we didn’t leave with a tiny bit of regret. We completely forgot to grab my new favorite — the Loaded Potato Salad — and a large Banana Pudding Cup. You better believe we’ll be scooping those up on May 17th.

Every time we visit a Buc-ee’s, we’re reminded that it’s not just about gas or snacks — it’s about the people, the pride, and the spirit of the open road. Leeds, Alabama, showed us all of that and more.

So, if you see us in the store next time — bolo tie, cowboy hat, and Buc-ee’s gear in full force — don’t be shy! Come say howdy. And if you’re planning to be in Brunswick, GA for the grand opening, let’s make it a party.

Until then — keep snackin’, keep smilin’, and as always…
Stay mighty, Buc-a-roos.

A Warm Welcome at Buc-ee’s Leeds: Our Fourth Visit & Another Memorable Experience

Our Buc-ee’s adventures took us back to familiar territory this past weekend—the Buc-ee’s in Leeds, Alabama! On Sunday, March 16, 2025, Karla and I made our fourth visit to this location, and as always, Buc-ee’s delivered a fantastic experience. From the welcoming staff to the incredible food, Leeds once again proved why every stop at Buc-ee’s is more than just a visit—it’s an event!

A Buc-ee’s Breakfast Fit for a Buckaroo
We kicked off our morning with some Buc-ee’s breakfast favorites.
Karla went for something light and refreshing—fresh cantaloupe, the perfect start to the day. I, on the other hand, took a heartier approach with the Super Sausage Taco. It was packed with flavor, a great balance of eggs, sausage, cheese, and, of course, that signature Buc-ee’s quality.

Lunch with Buc-ee’s Signature Staples
By lunchtime, we were ready for another round of Buc-ee’s goodness. Karla went with one of her favorites, the Chicken Salad Sandwich, which never disappoints with its creamy texture and delicious flavor. I, of course, had to indulge in my go-to classic—the Sliced Brisket Sandwich. The smoky, tender brisket was exactly what I expected: absolute perfection. Paired with a side of Baked Potato Salad, it made for a lunch that hit all the right notes.

Standout Buc-ee’s Team Members
One of the things that makes Buc-ee’s special isn’t just the food or the size of the store—it’s the people. The Leeds team truly made us feel at home, and we want to give a special shoutout to a few standout employees:
  • Chris (Bakery) – Incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure we had a top-notch experience in the bakery section.
  • Catherine (Cashier) – So wonderful and welcoming that we went through her line three times that day!
  • Darren – His dedication to keeping the store spotless was evident, ensuring that Leeds upheld the high Buc-ee’s standard we all know and love.
The Buc-ee’s Easter Plush: The One That Got Away
One of the main reasons we made the trip was to pick up the Buc-ee’s Easter Plush. Unfortunately, when we got there, they were completely sold out. Matthew, the general manager, went above and beyond to check the warehouse for us, but there were none left. While we were a little heartbroken to miss out, we truly appreciated the extra effort from Matthew and the team in trying to track one down.

Looking Ahead: The Grand Opening of Buc-ee’s Brunswick, GA
We’re already counting down the days to our next big Buc-ee’s event—the grand opening of Buc-ee’s Brunswick, GA later this year! From everything we’ve heard, the big day is set for August 2025, and we can’t wait to be there. We’re especially looking forward to the chance to meet Arch "Beaver" Aplin III and Randy Pauly in person to celebrate another incredible Buc-ee’s milestone.

Until Next Time, Buc-ee’s Leeds!
Our visit to Leeds was another reminder of why Buc-ee’s is the ultimate Traveler’s Oasis. From the incredible food to the outstanding customer service, it’s always worth the stop. If you find yourself near Leeds, be sure to drop by and say hello to the amazing team—and maybe grab a brisket sandwich while you’re at it!

Until our next Buc-ee’s adventure… happy travels and happy snacking!

Loving Leeds: Our Third Visit to Buc-ee’s Leeds, Alabama

Karla and I always say that Buc-ee’s is more than a store—it’s a family. Nowhere is that more evident than at the Leeds, Alabama Buc-ee’s, where every visit feels like coming home. On our third trip to this fantastic location, we spent time with some of our favorite Buc-ee’s team members and left with even more reasons to love this stop along I-20.

A Warm Welcome from Familiar Faces
We were thrilled to catch up with our favorite General Manager, Matthew, whose leadership and passion for Buc-ee’s always shine through. Matthew runs a tight ship, but more importantly, he creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes travelers and regulars like us feel special. We also got to meet our new friend, Tony, the Assistant General Manager. Tony is fantastic—friendly, attentive, and clearly committed to making Leeds a standout location.

Incredible Team Members Make the Difference
Of course, a Buc-ee’s visit wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the magic of the hardworking team. We had a wonderful time visiting with Chinal at the Tortilla Station, where the fresh-made tortillas are an absolute must-try. Chinal brings joy to the kitchen, and you can taste it in every bite of those delicious tacos and burritos.

Over in merchandising, we met Caleb, who was doing a heck of a great job keeping everything perfect for travelers seeking out sandwiches, fudge, candied nuts, and a host of other goodies. From perfectly organized displays to well-stocked shelves, Caleb's efforts ensure every guest has the ultimate Buc-ee’s experience.

Why We Love Leeds
This visit reminded us why Leeds holds a special place in our hearts. The store itself is huge and immaculate, filled with the signature Buc-ee’s charm, but it’s the people who make it truly shine. From the warm greetings to the dedication behind the scenes, Leeds is everything we love about Buc-ee’s wrapped into one fantastic location.

Planning Our Next Visit—Easter is Calling!
We’re already counting down to our next visit in March, when we’ll be back to pick up the Easter Buc-ee plushie (because every holiday needs a little Buc-ee’s spirit!). You can bet we’ll be stopping to say hello to Matthew, Tony, Chinal, and Caleb, and of course, loading up on our favorite snacks for the road.

Final Thoughts
If you’ve never been to the Leeds, Alabama Buc-ee’s, it’s time to fix that! Whether you’re grabbing a brisket sandwich, snapping up some fresh fudge, or just enjoying the friendliest service you’ll ever find on the highway, Leeds delivers the Buc-ee’s magic.
And if you happen to see us there, don’t be shy—say hello! We’ll be the ones in Buc-ee’s gear, with brisket sandwiches in hand and smiles on our faces.

Until next time, happy travels and BUC-EE’S FOREVER!

A Buc-ee’s Christmas Eve to Remember at Leeds, Alabama

Christmas Eve often brings the hustle and bustle of last-minute preparations, and for Karla and me, it meant a return to one of our favorite places: the Buc-ee’s in Leeds, Alabama. Our visit wasn’t just about picking up gifts; it turned into an unforgettable experience filled with great food, wonderful people, and a sprinkle of Buc-ee’s magic.

We arrived with a mission: to grab a few last-minute gifts for family and friends. Along the way, I couldn’t resist picking up a couple of treats for myself—a festive Christmas onesie and a Buc-ee’s waffle maker. Yes, you read that right—a waffle maker that imprints Buc-ee’s iconic face onto each waffle. How cool is that? I can’t wait to try it out!

Our Christmas dinner was also on the agenda. We picked up sliced brisket and sausage from the Texas Round-Up to be the stars of our holiday meal. Paired with some classic sides, it promises to be a feast even Santa would envy.

Of course, no visit to Buc-ee’s is complete without acknowledging the amazing team members who make every trip special. A huge thank-you to Matthew, the general manager, who not only remembered me from a previous visit but went above and beyond to get Karla a hot, fresh biscuit straight from the oven. His kindness exemplifies Buc-ee’s unparalleled hospitality.

Frank and Alex in the Texas Round-Up did an outstanding job preparing our Christmas dinner meats, ensuring everything was cooked to perfection. Allie and Sarah carefully packed our gifts and goodies, taking special care of my new Buc-ee’s coffee cup. Darren deserves a big shoutout for keeping the restrooms immaculate, even on a busy holiday.

For our meal during the visit, I indulged in a Big Buckin’ Brisket
sandwich, Beaver Chips, and a Diet Dr. Pepper. Karla enjoyed her biscuit with a side of fresh grapes. As we sat and soaked in the festive spirit, it became clear that Buc-ee’s isn’t just a pit stop—it’s a destination, a community, and for us, a part of our Christmas tradition.

Thank you, Leeds Buc-ee’s team, for making this Christmas Eve truly special. We’ll cherish the memories—and the waffles—for years to come.

Discovering Buc-ee's at Beach Express: A Culinary Journey in Robertsdale, Alabama

Our recent stop at the Buc-ee's located at Beach Express in Robertsdale, Alabama, was nothing short of extraordinary. This visit reaffirmed why Buc-ee's holds such a special place in our hearts, combining outstanding food, exceptional service, and a welcoming environment that makes each visit feel like a mini adventure.

As BBQ enthusiasts, we knew we were in for a treat when we arrived at Beach Express. I kicked off my meal with a Sliced Brisket Sandwich, a true masterpiece of smoky, tender brisket layered between soft, fresh bread. Each bite was a perfect balance of flavors, making it clear why Buc-ee’s brisket is so beloved. To complement my sandwich, I indulged in the crunchy, perfectly seasoned Beaver Chips and followed it up with a Fried Apple Pie—a sweet and crispy dessert that hit the spot.

But the highlight of the meal was the baked potato salad. This creamy, rich side dish paired wonderfully with the BBQ sandwich, offering a satisfying contrast to the smoky meat. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s a must on your next visit. I also sampled the mustard potato salad, which added a tangy twist to the meal. And because you can never have too much Buc-ee’s BBQ, I picked up a 3 Meat Sandwich for later, which I knew wouldn’t last long once I got home.

My wife enjoyed a Pulled Pork Sandwich that she found absolutely delicious, with tender pork and just the right amount of sauce. To balance out the savory flavors, she opted for a Watermelon Cup, a refreshing choice that provided a perfect contrast to the hearty sandwich. And, of course, we couldn’t leave without picking up some fudge—a sweet treat that never fails to satisfy.

While the food was the star of the show, the service at Beach Express was equally impressive. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Mari was especially helpful, assisting a customer with his purchase of a Buc-ee's chair and matching umbrella—a great example of the friendly and attentive service that Buc-ee's is known for. Brittany and Carla made sure we didn’t leave without our location refrigerator magnet, a staple in our growing collection. Ray was also fantastic, ensuring I looked my best in my photo with Buc-ee himself, while Monica provided great assistance as I selected gifts.

Buc-ee's at Beach Express stands out as a must-visit destination for anyone traveling through Robertsdale, Alabama. The combination of top-quality food, impeccable service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a perfect stop, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or spending some time exploring the store. The baked potato salad alone is worth the trip, especially when paired with one of their legendary BBQ sandwiches.

If you’re planning a visit to the Gulf Coast or just passing through, make sure to add the Beach Express Buc-ee's to your itinerary. With its amazing food offerings and friendly staff, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

A Morning at Auburn's Buc-ee's: A Breakfast Adventure and Beyond

Our recent visit to the Auburn Buc-ee's location was a delightful experience, one that perfectly encapsulated everything we love about this iconic Texas-born brand. Whether it's the mouthwatering food, the unparalleled service, or the friendly atmosphere, Auburn's Buc-ee's has it all.

We kicked off our day with a visit to the Texas Round Up, where we were greeted by the tantalizing aroma of freshly prepared breakfast options. I couldn’t resist trying the Super Sausage Breakfast Taco, and it did not disappoint. The combination of juicy sausage, fluffy eggs, and just the right amount of seasoning made for a hearty, satisfying start to the day. My wife opted for the Bean, Potato, and Cheese Taco, which she found to be a delightful blend of flavors, proving that Buc-ee's has something for everyone.

And what’s a visit to Buc-ee’s without picking up a few of their famous Beaver Tots? Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, these golden nuggets are a must-have on any trip. To top off breakfast, I indulged in a Cherry Kolache—a sweet, pastry delight filled with rich cherry goodness. It was the perfect way to end our morning meal.

While the food was outstanding, what truly set this visit apart was the exceptional service we received. The staff at the Auburn location went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of perfect. We were especially impressed by Gloria, who took the time to retrieve a bag of chocolate-covered Beaver Nuggets from the warehouse just for us. This kind of dedication to customer service is what keeps us coming back to Buc-ee’s time and time again.

Joanne in the Sweets section was another standout, taking care of our needs with a smile and even sharing a personal story that left us feeling inspired. Her warmth and kindness added a special touch to our visit. Kendra, who assisted us in the Buc-ee’s merchandise section, was also incredibly helpful, making our shopping experience smooth and enjoyable.

The Auburn Buc-ee's is a shining example of why we love this brand so much. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're greeted with a sense of warmth and hospitality that’s hard to find anywhere else. Buc-ee's in Athens, Alabama: A Journey of Flavors and Exceptional Service

After our delightful stop at Buc-ee's in Leeds, Alabama, we continued our journey west to Birmingham and then north on I-65 to Athens, Alabama, where we visited the second Buc-ee's on our itinerary. As part of our mission to visit every Buc-ee's, this stop added another memorable chapter to our adventure.

After eating a large breakfast at the Buc-ee's in Leeds, Alabama, I opted for a Cobb salad with Avocado Ranch dressing and a fruit bowl for lunch. The salad was a pleasant surprise – fresh, crisp, and generously dressed with a creamy avocado ranch that tied all the flavors together. The fruit bowl was equally impressive, filled with freshly cut fruits that provided a refreshing and healthy accompaniment.

My wife chose the chopped brisket sandwich, a testament to Buc-ee's dedication to quality Texas BBQ. As Texas natives, we're particular about our brisket, and Buc-ee's did not disappoint. The sandwich was packed with tender, flavorful brisket that tasted just like home. She also enjoyed a pineapple cup, which was as fresh and juicy as you could hope for.

We were so taken with the food and service that we decided to have both dinner and breakfast at Buc-ee's. For dinner, I had the brisket taco, adding a personal touch with Buc-ee's 5-Fire Roasted Peppers Salsa. The medium-heat salsa, with its blend of red bell pepper, green bell pepper, Anaheim pepper, Jalapeno pepper, and Serrano pepper, brought a delightful depth of flavor to the tender brisket. The combination was simply sublime.

The next morning, we started our day with another round of Buc-ee's specialties. I went for the brisket taco again, while my wife chose the sausage, egg, and cheese bowl. While she enjoyed the sausage version, she noted that the bacon, egg, and cheese bowl edged it out in terms of flavor, thanks to the savory, salty bacon that added an extra layer of deliciousness.

What truly sets Buc-ee's apart, beyond the exceptional food, is the remarkable service. David and the crew at the Texas Round-Up made sure we were well taken care of, ensuring our BBQ experience was top-notch. The staff's dedication to making every customer feel special is evident in every interaction. Special shout-outs to David, Hope, and the entire team for their warm hospitality and attention to detail.

Before leaving, we tried out the Buc-ee's car wash, and it was quite the experience. We won't spoil the surprise, but be sure to keep an eye out for a fun twist near the middle of the wash. Our car emerged sparkling clean, adding a nice finishing touch to our visit.

Exploring Buc-ee's in Leeds, Alabama: A Culinary Adventure

Our recent journey took us to the Buc-ee's in Leeds, Alabama, a destination that left us both impressed and satisfied. Situated conveniently off I-20, this iconic travel stop is more than just a gas station; it's a culinary haven that deserves a spotlight. Here's a look into our delightful experience, highlighting some standout items that made our visit unforgettable.

First on our list of must-try items is the brisket taco. Buc-ee's has mastered the art of Texas brisket, and when wrapped in a warm, soft tortilla, it becomes a handheld masterpiece. But what took it to the next level was the addition of Buc-ee's 5-Fire Roasted Peppers Salsa. This medium-heat salsa, crafted from a blend of red bell pepper, green bell pepper, Anaheim pepper, Jalapeno pepper, and Serrano pepper, delivers a complex depth of flavor. The roasted peppers combine with fresh tomatoes, onions, and fragrant spices to complement the tender brisket perfectly.

Accompanying the brisket taco were the famous Beaver Tots. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these tots are a nostalgic comfort food with a Buc-ee's twist. They're perfect for dipping in any of Buc-ee's house-made sauces, including the aforementioned salsa.

Our breakfast exploration at Buc-ee's started with the sausage biscuit, a hearty and flavorful option that sets a high bar for convenience store fare. The biscuit was soft and buttery, encasing a perfectly seasoned sausage patty that was satisfying and delicious. This delightfully delicious treat has cheddar and Jalapenos mixed into the biscuit.

Next, we indulged in the cherry kolache. For those unfamiliar, a kolache is a pastry of Czech origin, traditionally filled with fruit or cheese. Buc-ee's cherry kolache features a tender, slightly sweet dough filled with a rich and sweet cherry filling, making it a delightful breakfast or dessert option.

My wife opted for the bacon, egg, and cheese bowl. The saltiness of the bacon was the standout feature, elevating the flavors of the fluffy scrambled eggs and melted cheese. It’s a simple yet memorable dish that showcases Buc-ee's commitment to quality.

Beyond the food, it's the little extras at Buc-ee's that make it a destination worth visiting. From the spotless bathrooms to the friendly and helpful staff, every aspect of the store is designed to make travelers feel welcome and comfortable.

Whether you're fueling up, grabbing a quick bite, or stocking up on road trip essentials, Buc-ee's in Leeds, Alabama, offers an experience that's both unique and consistently excellent. We left with full stomachs, a jar of their incredible 5-Fire Roasted Peppers Salsa, and memories of a culinary adventure that we can't wait to repeat.

If you find yourself on I-20 heading towards Birmingham or Atlanta, make sure to stop by Buc-ee's in Leeds. Trust us, you won't regret it!
