Enjoy a stress-free holiday dinner with a touch of class and side of Nutella Bread Pudding


Finn & Porter, located in the Hilton at 500 East 4th Street between Red River and Neches Streets, has planned a special Thanksgiving menu for those looking to enjoy a hassle-free holiday on Thursday, November 28th. In lieu of dealing with grocery store crowds and slaving over a hot stove, guests can relax and enjoy the company of friends and family while indulging in a traditional, stylish spread at Finn& Porter.

Chef Peter Maffei’s three-course menu will be available from noon to 8pm (bar opens at 2pm) - $45 for adults and $20 for kids. The first course will feature an option of Butternut Squash Soup or a Texas Winter Green Salad with cranberries, goat cheese, and pistachios, served with a smoked pecan vinaigrette.  The Thanksgiving Plate - the main course - will feature all of the traditional favorites with a Finn & Porter twist -- slow roasted turkey, green bean casserole, sausage-apple stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes and cranberry relish.  Of course, guests must save room for desert with an option of a Bourbon Pumpkin Pecan Pie or Nutella Bread Pudding served with a house-made brown butter ice cream and hazelnut ganache. Definitely not your grandmother’s bread pudding!  Wine pairings for each course are available upon request.

Bill and Kim Nash share the same last name, but that is not all! This dynamic singer/songwriter duo had the same uncommon upbringing in the music industry. They share strikingly similar backgrounds of traveling and singing with their families. Bill and his family were the original Nash Family Trio and Kim’ with her family were  The Belknap Family. Both families traveled the country heavily. Together with their son Jimmy this couple has written and recorded many a familiar melody which we will enjoy with lunch.

Bill and Kim founded Building Bridges of  Hope a music driven humanitarian charity outreach organization. through this charity they have been able to help many other charities by organizing fundraisers, writing and producing theme songs and sharing their own personnel proceeds. To date they have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for so many causes to benefit children with cancer and their  families.

Join Winemaker Thomas Nye and Executive Chef Luis Martinez for a special Spring 5 course food and wine pairing at The Grape Escape on May 1 at 7:00 PM. Chef Martinez was the Executive Chef of Teresa’s Café in Princeton and has now started his own gourmet catering company.  He will prepare a five course dinner for you with each course paired with wines from around the world. Chef Luis Martinez has a completely unique culinary point of view, fusing Italian & Latin American cuisine.

The evening begins with a wine tasting directly from our barrels.  Try a Chardonnay from the Russian River in California or a Montepulciano from Italy…directly from the barrel.  We'll discuss each region, how the wines are made and the intricacies of tasting wine properly for full enjoyment.

The following five course dinner will then be prepared for you by Chef Luis Martinez:

Entrada - Mechada Beef on Tostones, Spicy Pineapple Sauce

Ensalada - Watercress, Hearts of Palm, Tomato, Feta Cheese, Citrus Saffron Vinaigrette

Pescado - Panela and Rum Cured Salmon, Peas, Grape Tomato, Smoked Bacon, Golden Raisins and Potato Fricasse

Carne - Spice Rub Tenderloin, Fried Potatoes, Asparagus Spicy Chocolate-Rosemary Sauce

Postre - Peach and Almonds Tres Leches

As each course is presented to you, we will match a specific wine to each course and discuss how and why the wines match.  The cost is $95  a person or $169 for a couple (gratuity included.)

Chef Luis Martinez is a rising star in the culinary field.  Luis is originally from Venezuela, trained in Montreal and is currently the Executive Chef of the prominent Teresa’s Café in Princeton.  Luis has worked with The Grape Escape for many of our corporate team building events, awing our clients with his inspired creations.

The Grape Escape is a working winery that invites you to participate in the winemaking process. You crush, press, bottle and custom label your own wine. In the Spring, we import grapes from Chile and Argentina while in the Fall we ship grapes from Napa, Sonoma and Amador. Come see what everyone is talking about!

Well, Cinco de Mayo isn't exactly known as a wine drinkers holiday so we thought we'd stray from our usual wine pairing dinners and do an over-the-top Mexican fiesta with specialty tequilas, cervezas, margaritas and cocktails instead.

Please join us (21 and up only, please) on Cinco de Mayo anytime from 4:30 on for our twist on an authentic Mexican style fiesta paired with five different drinks.  We'll start with half shots of super-premium Fortaleza Blanco and Reposado tequilas, followed by a refreshing IPA from AleSmith, followed by two margaritas: a blended Yucatan tropical fruit one and an ultra-premium hand-shaken one made with five different liquors and fresh juices, and finish with a demitasse of our legendary Mexican coffee.

Cost is a mere forty-two fifty for everything including all five drinks and the entire 10-course Cinco de Mayo tasting menu.  Hope you can join us!  Here's the line-up:

PARKING ~ FREE & PAID
Valet parking is available for $7.00.  The drop-off point is two doors south of our entrance at the corner of India and Winder in front of Shakespeare Pub.  On-street parking is also usually available within a 3-block radius.  Remember that it’s OK to park in yellow commercial zones after 6:00 (or all day on Sunday) and that meters are also free after 6:00 (or all day on Sunday).  You can also park in the lot behind Shakespeare Pub two doors down, but do not park in El Indio's lot unless you want your car towed!  If you can’t find parking next to the restaurant, there’s usually LOTS OF PARKING on San Diego Avenue and the adjacent side streets just past the Chevron station across Washington Street.  So please don't drive yourself crazy endlessly going around in circles waiting to pounce on that perfect spot when there's TONS OF PARKING less than three blocks away!
