Join us at Sigel's-Greenville this Saturday from 1 to 4 pm as we welcome Dallas' Jim Streigel, proprietor of Red Mare Wines for a tasting of his 2009 Cabernet . After achieving business success in the automotive and real estate fields here in Dallas, Jim followed his passion for wine by establishing this artisanal Cabernet producer with winemaker Anne Vawter (a protégé of Heidi Barrett). Jim will taste and answer questions about his 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. The 2009 Red Mare Cabernet Sauvignon jumps out of the glass. Cherry dominates with cassis, plum and blackberry compounding to create a full and complex fruit profile. Below the surface, vanilla, caramel and clove are layered. Delicate aromas of oiled leather and pencil shavings deepen the wines aromatic experience. The mouth is luscious and full but driven by a bright acidity that focuses the wine. The tannins are round and soft leading into a lengthy rich and pleasing finish.
