Meddlesome Moth will host a special beer dinner featuring Real Ale Brewing Company’s Mysterium Verum barrel-aged series with Erik Ogershok, brewmaster at Real Ale, leading the evening.
Executive chef David McMillan has planned a five-course dinner to pair with select beers for the evening. The beers to be showcased for the evening are listed below, along with the paired dinner menu.
WT3F?!, a barrel-aged version of Real Ale’s Devil’s Backbone made with brettanomyces
Devil’s Share, another Devil’s Backbone aged in Cabernet Barrels
Paired with Cabrales gougère and shards of Smithfield ham
Highlander, a wine barrel-aged wee heavy scotch ale
Paired with haggis crépinette with smoked oats, lamb, tongue and maple cream
Empire, a barrel-aged version of Real Ale’s Lost Gold IPA
Paired with curry, hops and scallop chawanmushi
Kraken, Real Ale’s Sisyphus Barleywine Ale aged in French oak
Paired with rabbit with sultana civet and Boston brown bread
Vol. X5, a Maker’s Mark-barrel-aged version of Real Ale’s 15th Anniversary Stout
Paired with chocolate, hazelnut and Medjool date financier made with malted X5 caramel
Scots Gone Wild, a wee heavy scotch ale aged six months in American oak and wild yeast, available for purchase at the bar
Tickets for the dinner are $90 for the general public and $80 for Delirium Guild members. Ticket price includes tax and gratuity, and guests can purchase tickets at the Moth or by calling 214-628-7900. Reservations are strongly recommended, as this event is likely to sell out.
