Bill and Kim Nash share the same last name, but that is not all! This dynamic singer/songwriter duo had the same uncommon upbringing in the music industry. They share strikingly similar backgrounds of traveling and singing with their families. Bill and his family were the original Nash Family Trio and Kim’ with her family were The Belknap Family. Both families traveled the country heavily. Together with their son Jimmy this couple has written and recorded many a familiar melody which we will enjoy with lunch.
Bill and Kim founded Building Bridges of Hope a music driven humanitarian charity outreach organization. through this charity they have been able to help many other charities by organizing fundraisers, writing and producing theme songs and sharing their own personnel proceeds. Spring Barrel, Tank & Futures Tasting - Austin, Texas

Austin, Texas
Texas Hill Country Wineries
Austin, Texas 78729
866-621-9463
Cost: 100/person, 175/couple, 300/4 people
Our 2nd Barrel, Tank & Futures Tasting weekend begins on Friday, May 10th and runs through Sunday, May 12th. With 14 participating Texas Hill Country Wineries, it makes for a great weekend excursion. And a great weekend gift for Mother’s Day!
The three-day ticket will allow wine lovers to take in a whole new view and flavor of the wineries. Visitors will taste from barrels and tanks, sample vertical tastings, savor wine and food pairings and enjoy entertainment at participating wineries. This event is limited to 100 guests to insure a more intimate experience.
What are Wine Futures? Tasting samples of wines still in barrel or tank are made available to consumers. You can place orders for these wines based on your liking at the time of tasting. When the wines are released in a few months to a year, you already have yours ordered, paid for and can pickup as soon as the winery releases it. Not all participating wineries offer futures, but this is also a great opportunity to join the many wine clubs available.
The average cost of a 'regular' tasting at most wineries is about $7 (range between $5-$15). For time with owners and winemakers, tastes of pre-released wines, pairings and more at 14 wineries, cost is jut $100/person, $175/couple or 'Car Load' (4 people) for $300. This breaks down to just $7/winery visited for a single person if you make it to all 14. ($6/person for a couple and $5/person for a 'Car Load')
NOTE: Not all Texas Hill Country Wineries are participating in this event. Please see the list of participating wineries, schedules and tasting information by visiting the Texas Hill Country Wineries' website.

Winemaker Wednesdays is really for one kind of person: the type of person that not only loves to drink wine, but adores learning about it, talking to people about it, experiencing it. Certainly everybody is invited to this limited series of unique, custom winery experiences, though it has been conceived for passionate, curious fans of wine, winemaking and all that goes into that. Each winery has crafted some kind of unique, or special event or activity for these days. And the programs may change from one Wednesday to the next. It is necessary for you to call the winery and make an appointment for these, and at that time you can confirm their offering. The reason an appointment is required, is because many wineries commit one or two members of their senior leadership (owner and/or winemaker or vineyard manager, oftentimes) to conduct the program, and typically those individuals have a slew of other tasks and chores they should be doing, and appointments enable them to manage their time best. Some of these offerings have fees associated with them, most do not. Most have limited time constraints, some do not. Every Winemaker Wednesday takes place on the second Wednesday of the given month. For a more detailed list of the varying opportunities offered by the participating wineries please visit our website.

Grow healthy grapes, and let them turn into wine: Easier said than done.
Perfect grapes are a must, but in order to end up with a truly great wine, the winemaker must be brave enough to let the grapes speak for themselves. For wines of purity and unbridled expression, look to natural, organic, and Biodynamic winemakers.
Andy Fisher, Astor’s president, will lead a tasting of wines that are convincing conventional winemakers to re-think their chemical habits, and are literally changing the taste of wine.
Plus, once you understand why they’re so good, you’ll be able to find more treasures like these on your own. Sit back and enjoy a few glasses as Andy explains why these are the wines you should be drinking.

"In the 2008's, you've got the best vintage Oregon has ever produced, the kind of vintage Oregon winemakers always hoped they could produce." - Wine Spectator
The more we taste 2008 Oregon Pinot Noirs, the more we think this is indeed the breakthrough vintage that Oregon winemakers have always dreamed of. It’s not just that the quality is so high. The fact that so many wineries made their best wines ever is a testament to Mother Nature who cooperated to the fullest extent to make 2008 a special vintage throughout Oregon. We're a little late with this blind tasting, but better late than never. The 2008 Oregon Pinot Noirs are simply too compelling for us to ignore.
In our quest to find the best of the best, EWS has assembled 13 wines that represent the upper echelon of Oregon Pinot Noir. Our stellar lineup includes:
Beaux Freres “The Beaux Freres Vineyard” (94IWC, 93WS)
Bergstrom “Bergstrom Vineyard” (92WA, 94IWC, 93WS)
Chehalem “Reserve” (92WA, 93IWC, 93WS)
Cristom “Signature Cuvée” (94WA, 94IWC, 92WS)
Domaine Drouhin “Louise” (94WA, 92IWC)
Domaine Serene “Evenstad Reserve” (92WA, 93WS)

Eyrie “Black Cap” (94WA, 92IWC)
Ponzi “Reserve” (92IWC)
St. Innocent “Justice Vineyard” (92WA, 93IWC)
Shea “Homer” (96WA, 94WS)
Soter “Mineral Springs Ranch” (93WA, 93IWC, 92WS)
