We know that Galileo Galilei is the “Father of Modern Science” and that Giotto is the “Father of Renaissance Painting”, (Italy boasts many “Fathers of..”!) but did you know that there is a “Father of Pinot Grigio”? Tony Terlato earned that title when he introduced Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio to America in 1979. Today, Pinot Grigio is the most popular imported varietal, and Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio is the most popular luxury wine in U.S. history!
You will enjoy this iconic Pinot Grigio as well many other award-winning wines at our next “Divino in Vino” Wine Cena! Join your Italian Club amici and Josh Price, District Manager at Terlato Wines International, as he leads us through a wine pairing dinner on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. In addition to the Santa Margherita, diners will enjoy Berlucchi’s Cuvee 61 Brut Vintage, Mazzoni’s Bianco Di Toscana Tuscan Chardonnay and Vermentino Mazzoni Barbera, Gaja Winery’s Promis (a delicious Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese blend), and Fizz 56 Brachetto Spumante ~ a sweeter, sparkling red. Each 2.5 ounce tasting will be paired with a course specifically selected by Chef Tommaso Lestingi to bring out the nuances of the wine. (The menu will be posted soon online at italianclubdallas.org and will be available at the Clubhouse.) Full pours will be available for purchase with the dinner, and special by-the-case prices will also be featured for attendees.
RSVPs are requested, so please call 972/931-9167 or go online at italianclubdallas.org. Contact Mary Ann at email@example.com with any questions. Great cuisine and classic Italian wines form a timeless partnership ~ don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy them both at the Italian Club of Dallas.
