Llewelling, Napa Valley 2009
93 points
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon comes across as luscious and beautifully balanced. Bright red fruit, flowers and spices are some of the notes that flow from the glass in this seductive, radiant Cabernet Sauvignon. The supple, silky finish is impossible to resist. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Wight Vineyard is a huge wine bursting with dark red fruit, flowers and sweet spices. The 2009 needs quite a bit of bottle age to shed its baby fat, but it is impressive, even at this early stage. Firm yet silky tannins frame the textured, generous finish. This seamless, highly expressive wine should drink well for at least a handful of years. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. Antonio Galloni

Black Stallion, Napa Valley 2009
91 points Wine Enthusiast
Great price for a Cabernet this good. It's packed with classic varietal flavors of blackberries, cassis, plums and cocoa. The tannins are rich and ripe, with an elegantly pure Napa Valley structure. Not an ager, so drink soon. S.H. (6/1/2012)

Oakville Winery, Oakville, Napa Valley 2009 (organic)
92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is richer, riper and fleshier than the 2008. Layers of dark red fruit flow effortlessly from this radiant, expressive Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2009 is still quite young, and will  bottle age to develop its aromatic nuances. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024." - Antonio Galloni (Dec 2011)

Oakville Winery, "Ghost Block",  Oakville, 2009 Napa (organic)
A Cult Vineyard Site where wines costing as much as 10X are sourced!
According to Napa lore, the spirit of George C. Yount, credited as the first person to plant vines in the Valley and for whom the town of Yountville is named, inhabits what has since been named the "Ghost Block" vineyard, wandering the vines at night and keeping watch over the valley where he  rests during the day in a tiny 150 year old cemetery on the north edge of Yountville - the epicenter of Napa Valley.  Coveted by celebrity winemakers, the fruit from this vineyard and nearby vineyards has been the cornerstone of many of Napa's 'Cult Wines'.  Production is very limited, always based on the best fruit.

Though we will not be tasting this wine, we will have approximately
1 six pack of Shafer Hillside Select 2008 available.

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is quite structured. Even with its firm tannins, though, the wine shows gorgeous depth and sheer power. The 2008 isn't a wine with early appeal, but it shows off tons of muscle and sheer depth. Dark fruit, leather, licorice, spices and tar inform the muscular, virile finish. The 2008 will require patience but its explosive personality virtually ensures it will be a rock star in a few years' time. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2028. (12/ 2011)

Cost: $15
